AYL 900 Lumens CREE LED Tactica Flashlight
My husband is very impressed with this flashlight. It is about 5 1/2 inches long. It is made of Weather Resistant Industrial Grade Anodized Aluminum Alloy. It has a wrist strap attached and a pocket clip. It runs on 3 AAA batteries which are not included. Included is the little battery holder for the AAA batteries. Also there is a clear plastic sheaf that will hold a 18650 rechargeable battery if you prefer. There re 5 lighting modes High, Medium, Low Beam, Strobe and SOS, all controlled by the push button on the very end of the flashlight. This flashlight is also zoomable by turning the light end of the flashlight. He really likes that it has a magnetic base, great for working under the car. This light is really bright it offers 900 Lumens on high. This really is a very nice flashlight and is light weight.

U.S. Art Supply 9" x 12" Premium Drawing Paper Pad
This is a great drawing tablet. It measures 9 x 12. It is made of 60 pound paper. There are 50 sheets in the tablet. The tablet is glue bound, so makes taking pages out very easy. Just grab and pull. The paper is acid free. It is off white in color. It is great for drawing with Pens, Markers, Pencils, and other dry media.
I have shopped with US Art Supply several times and I love the quality of their products. This pad of paper is no different. This paper is great for the beginner or even the professional. This pad would make a great addition to any ones supply box.

Book Description
Some places are too evil. Some places should be left alone.
Austin Cole has it made. Star of the hit television show Spirit Chaser Investigations, he has become the world’s most famous paranormal investigator. Although hard work, a talented investigation team, and favorable genetics have something to do with it, it’s his lack of fear and willingness to take risks no one else will that make Spirit Chaser Investigations cable’s number-one show.
When a ghost-hunt-gone-wrong seriously injures his best friend and lead psychic, Austin is forced to find a replacement for a team member he considers irreplaceable.
Casey Lawson can’t catch a break. She’s been on her own since she turned eighteen and is scraping by as a part-time psychic and cashier at a New Age store. When a desperate Austin Cole calls her up and offers her a position on his team, has her fortune finally changed?
He’s a control freak; she’s stubborn and opinionated. It takes time, but when they finally realize they’re working on the same side, everything clicks, both on and off screen.
Just when things are looking up, a new threat emerges. Over the years, Austin has angered plenty of demons, and one of them has set her sights on him. Now he’s the one in danger, and it’s up to the team to rescue him from the riskiest investigation of their lives.

Excerpt:
“I got your message. I guess that means Austin
tracked you down.”
“Yeah, he did, and
I have some questions about that for later.” Casey threw her purse on the entry
table and flopped down on the couch. “But first I want to talk about you. I saw
what happened on the finale. It was awful.” Casey paused for a moment. “How are
you doing?”
“Yeah, that wasn’t
my finest moment.” No it wasn’t. Casey thought it was a crappy thing to do,
televising what had to be the lowest point in Barrett’s life. But she
understood about ratings and the Almighty Dollar. “I’m better now, though,” he
told her.
“How did it get in
your head?”
“She was strong.
Very strong.”
“She?”
“Yeah, the entity
self-identified as female. She got in before I even knew I’d been attacked.” An
involuntary shiver went through Casey’s spine. Barrett had always been careful.
If an entity could get hold of him like that, then no one was safe.
“So, do you
remember what happened?”
“Thankfully, no. I
have vivid memories of everything that happened before we entered the
warehouse. But after that, it’s all kind of a blur. This is what I do remember:
She put the darkest thoughts of violence and rage in my head.” It had been like
seeing his friends through someone else’s eyes. He had been
crazy-out-of-control-angry at Gary and Luis. But the level of hate he’d felt
for Austin was off the charts. Not only did he want him to suffer a slow,
agonizing death, he wanted to inflict the pain and watch every excruciating
moment as he slipped closer and closer to the edge. Barrett exhaled. “Anyway,
the next thing I know, I’m in the hospital with a broken arm, terrified of
something I can’t name or describe. You remember how I was in high school? When
everything was hopeless and I was hating life?”
“Yeah,” Casey
said. For as long as she had known Barrett, depression had been a daily
struggle. He was the typical high school loner, a bit of a weirdo who didn’t
fit into any of the usual cliques. He wandered around the halls with a sad,
empty look in his eyes. The dark cloud over his head was what drew Casey to him
in the first place. She was an outcast in her own right. Being the preacher’s
emo daughter who spoke to ghosts didn’t win her any popularity contests. His
vulnerability struck a chord with her. She wanted to take him home with her,
like a stray puppy, and hold him until he felt safe and secure. But her comfort
was not what he needed.
“That was nothing
compared to the level of depression and despair I was feeling after the …
thing”—he couldn’t bring himself to articulate the word “possessed”—“attacked
me. I found out later that the doctors placed me on a suicide watch.” Barrett shook
his head. “Weird. Sorry to unload on you. I’ll save the confessing and
emotional vomiting for my priest and shrink.”
“No worries. I
shouldn’t have brought up a sore subject.”
“No, Casey. You’re
one of the few people who’ve even asked how I’m doing. My boyfriend, Derek,
wants to ignore it, pretend like nothing happened. He’s afraid if we discuss
it, I’ll lose it or something. I think a few of my friends are even kind of
scared of me.” Barrett sighed. “Well, enough about me. What have you been up
to, Ms. Lawson? Something fabulous, I’m sure.”
“Not really. I’ve
been working at my friend’s store. It’s a low-stress job and not taxing on the
brain. I’m kind of at an in-between place in my life right now. Trying to
figure stuff out.” Casey paused and took a breath. “So, what’s the deal with
this Austin dude? He tells me you’re the one who suggested me as a replacement.
Why?”
“Because you’re
the best. And Spirit deserves the best. They’re great people and I don’t want
some attention-seeking charlatan screwing things up for them.”
“Well, if it’s so
great, why don’t you want to go back?”
Barrett sighed and
put his hand to his forehead. “That is a completely fair question, especially
since I’m the one who gave Austin your name. But truthfully, I’m still in
recovery mode. When Luis exorcised the she-demon, he got rid of my familiars,
too. And I relied on them a lot.” Unlike Casey, Barrett came from a long line
of seers. The familiar spirits that helped him see the future and communicate
with the dead had been in his family for generations. “I mean, I can still see
ghosts, but I can’t see the future anymore, and that kind of sucks.”
“So ask them
back.”
“No, I don’t want
to do that. After the she-devil got in, I’m not itching to open myself up
again.”
Casey couldn’t blame
him. “Well, even without your familiars, you’re still a million times better
than most of the so-called psychics out there. And when you do get better,
you’re going to want you’re fantastic job back.”
“No. I have my own
personal reasons for not wanting to return that I’d rather not get into. It’s a
great job, Casey, just not great for me.”
“Well, I haven’t
even interviewed yet. Once Austin meets me, he might say forget it.”
“I know for a fact
he has no one else lined up. The job is yours to refuse or accept.”
“I don’t know. I’m
going to tell it like it is. Some people can’t handle that.”
“That’s what makes
you the perfect choice. Austin is very persistent, very charming, and very
persuasive. It’s nearly impossible to tell him no. And once he gets his mind
set on something, he won’t stop. The team needs someone like you to stand firm,
because Austin can’t see the danger and really doesn’t understand it. He’ll
lead them all straight into hell without even knowing it.”
Let me start this review of by just saying: For the last 2 days this book has scared the crap out of me. Yep there ya go I admitted it. I love a good paranormal story and this is one of the best by far I have read in a long time. At times the book drags on a little bit, but when it scary it takes your breath away. By dragging on I don't really mean this book is slow. There was the parts towards the first of the book when they were getting ready for the next season and it was a bit slow. Actually though those parts do help you understand parts of the book later on and why they were important. You just don't realize it at the time. My advice is keep reading. My other advice is read with the light on. This book is scary at least to me.
I really enjoyed the writing style of Kat Mayor. I loved the characters in the book. Their life like qualities were great and they truly flowed through the story. At times you wished some of the characters were real people so you could grab them and shake them. Mainly Austin Cole.
Austin is the lead investigator and founder of the Spirit Chaser investigations crew. Spirit Chaser Investigations is a band of friends who are also ghost chasers. He is also the world's leading paranormal investigator and is the star of cable television's most popular show which is also named Spirit Chaser Investigations.
At the end to the prior season of the show one of Austin's best friends and also the team psychic is hurt and resigns from the crew. After being asked by Austin to recommend someone in comes Casey Lawson. The fun begins. Austin is a self centered person and Casey is a no nonsense kind of girl. so the clashing begins. Sorry that's all you get about the story, I don't want to ruin it for anyone.
This book is not all about scary stuff it is also takes you down the path of each of the members lives. I love how every character in the book is a star in their own way. Now one gets pushed to the side so the 2 main characters do all the shining. I would love to see this movie turned into a series. I would really love to see this book turned into a movie truthfully.

Excerpt
Two:
Climbing off the bed, I inched towards the large vessel
sitting on the floor, my curiosity getting the better of me. A silver liquid
swirled inside—a beautiful metallic silver that reminded me of the strangers
eyes.
Standing at the edge of the big tub, I stared down into the
swirling silver liquid. I wanted to dip my fingers in it and feel its texture
against my skin and to see if it was hot or cold. My mother had joked with me when
I was a child that my curiosity would get me into trouble one day.
The silver liquid started to move as I stared down at it
debating with myself whether I should touch it. It rose up in a column, a head
forming, shoulders, arms, a torso, all forming out of the swirling liquid,
until the shape of a man stood in the tub.
I stumbled back, my legs hitting the bed, overbalancing me.
I sat down heavily. Shock coursed through me. The shape started to change,
clothes starting to emerge, skin forming until the man with silver eyes stood
looking at me.
His dark hair fell over the smooth plane of his forehead,
the sharp cut of his cheekbones and the strength of his jaw highlighted by the
soft lighting in the room. For a human, he was incredibly good looking. But he
wasn’t human and I’d do well to remember that.
“What are you?” I asked staring into his silver eyes.

Shkbt40 High Performance 1600 Lumens Motorcycle
This little light is quite bright. There is no power source, it connect to a 12 volt battery. It is small and non obtrusive though which is great. It was easy to hook up, mounting wasn't hard with the 3 different sized rubber mounting rings. There are 4 levels of brightness, you scroll through with a push of the button on the back of the light. The outer case of the light is aircraft-grade aluminum. There are 4 LED lights with a max output of 1600-lumens. It does have a wide beam on it not like a regular flashlight. This is great for small scooters and atv's.

2 BROADS ABROAD: MOMS FLY THE COOP
2 Broads Abroad: Moms Fly the Coop
by Deborah Serra and Nancy
Serra Greene
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Nonfiction, Motherhood,
Travel Memoir
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When sisters, Deborah & Nancy, discovered that
motherhood was a temp job they decided to run away from home. After packing up
that last kid for college, and facing the sad stillness of their suddenly quiet
homes, they decided to leave the country. 2 BROADS ABROAD: MOMS FLY THE COOP is
a funny, irreverent, occasionally poignant travel tale of their impulsive road
trip around Ireland.
In this witty warm-hearted adventure, they experienced some of Ireland’s quirkier history while sharing universally relatable stories of maniacal school coaches, neurotic neighbors, and tiger moms. Having kicked that empty nest into their rearview mirror, the sisters took off careening down the wrong side of the road, making questionable choices, getting trapped in a medieval tower, sneaking Chinese take-out into a famous cooking school, drinking way too much, and gaining a changed perspective on their lives ahead.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt One:
“Your youngest is leaving for college? Aw, empty nest?” Then, sappy eyes followed by a plaintive grin
and, “What will you do?”
Before my sister and I decided to run away from home we were
bothered by that question. There was
something minimizing about it, minimizing and not completely untrue. Motherhood
had been so deceptive, the greatest paradox in life: every single bleary-eyed
day felt a month long, and the years went by in an instant. They flashed by
like lightning and left a desiccated scorch mark wearing my clothes. It was disagreeable to imagine what life
would be like childless: there would be
the family tree, and there would be the mom who’s the center of the family
tree, standing leafless, bare (and it has been a while since I looked good
bare). There was some solace as I glanced around me to see my younger sister,
Nancy, would be standing there bare as well.
We were embarking on this progeny-shedding calamity simultaneously as
both of our youngest daughters, Nicole and Olivia, were leaving for college the
same week.
I knew that Nancy hadn’t really focused on it yet. And then, we met at Fashion Island in Newport
Beach near her home to get a birthday gift for our mom. We ran into two of
Nancy’s neighbors, Vicki and Susan.
“Nancy,” Vicki asked, “doesn’t Nicole graduate from Corona
Del Mar High School this June?”
“Yes,” Nancy said.
“She’s going to the University of Washington.”
“Oh,” Susan lifted her eyebrows, “you must be devastated.”
“What?” Nancy looked
confused. “No, actually I was happy for
her. She worked really hard. It was her
first choice school.”
“But so far away!” Susan added in that annoying singsong
tone.
Nancy shifted her feet, a move I knew well as her
sister. It was something she always did
when she was being told something she did not like to hear.
“It’s not that far.” Nancy said.
“It’s a plane ride. You need an airplane to see your daughter.”
Susan said loudly.
“Yeah.” Nancy turned
to me in an effort to change the subject. “You remember my sister, Deborah?”
“Of course.” Vicki smiled.
And we exchanged hellos. Vicki
seemed normal, but I had an inkling that I might have to slap Susan.
Susan continued on with her one thought. “With your son gone
already, and soon Nicole, well, Nancy, I guess you’re all alone now.”
Nancy shifted her feet again. “I’m still married, Susan.”
“Sure. Sure. Right.
So that’s better than nothing, huh?”
Nancy and I both froze.
Did she just say that?
“You know,” Vicki tried to cut off Susan, “when Terrie’s
youngest left she bought a Chihuahua puppy.
Cutest thing you’ve ever seen.
And the Walkers gave a room to an exchange student from Sweden,” she explained
happily.
Nancy nodded. “That sounds like a good plan.”
Susan opened her mouth to speak again and I wasn’t sure
whether I should just smack her now and be done with it, or let her
continue. I made the wrong choice.
“Remember Pam Winthrop?” Susan leaned in. “When her son left
she started eating a pint of Ben & Jerry’s every day until she put on 60
pounds. Sad, really, tragic. Even her kneecaps were fat.” Then Susan turned to
me, “So, Deborah, isn’t your youngest graduating, too?”
“I’m leaving the country,” I said.
Susan cocked her head. “What?”
“I’m leaving the country,” I repeated matter-of-factly.
“So am I,” Nancy said. I looked at her. I saw the decision in her eyes. “I’m going
with Deborah. We’re taking a long trip
together – a sisters trip.”
“You are?” Susan sounded a little thwarted, which Nancy
found gratifying.
“Yup, in the planning stages.” Nancy smiled at Susan who was
clearly disappointed that we were not miserable as anticipated. “Nice to see you though, Susan, Vicki. Got to go. In the middle of booking flights
and stuff. So much to do!”
We turned away and strode with purpose toward the door.
I whispered, “Susan’s a real gem.”
“She did me a favor.”
“Yeah?”
“I’ve been so busy I just wasn’t thinking about it.”
“And I haven’t been able to think about anything else,” I
said. “When I’m awake in the middle of
the night it runs over and over in my mind.”
Nancy said, “When I heard that crap Susan was dealing, all
of a sudden I realized, there’s no way am I plodding into that sunset with fat
kneecaps carrying a Chihuahua.”
INTERVIEW
Have you ever had an imaginary friend?
I haven’t had an imaginary friend, but I did know a girl
when I was growing up who had a roomful of them. She was an only child and
wanted siblings so she invented them. Looking back now I can’t decide whether
she was fantastically creative or schizophrenic – either way, she was my
favorite friend.
Do you have any phobias?
My sister and I both have phobias. Deborah is afraid of deep water and it’s
quite a challenge to get her on a boat, but to her credit she has done it. I have night terrors, which started when I
was sixteen years old. Before we left on our Ireland road trip about which our
book 2 BROADS ABROAD: Moms Fly the Coop is
written, my husband pulled Deborah aside and warned her about it. She was still
mortified when it happened – read that part of our book at the Shelbourne Hotel
in Dublin - it’s hilarious.
Do you listen to music when you're writing?
Deborah and I work as a team. So we do not listen to music while working we
just try to listen to each other – that’s challenging enough!
Do you ever read your stories out loud?
I do not read out loud.
My husband reads everything out loud. I can hear him downstairs in the
kitchen every morning reading the paper while he is having breakfast. When
Deborah and I did our first public reading at Barnes & Noble for 2 BROADS ABROAD: Moms Fly the Coop, I
had to read a passage out loud to an audience and that was a new thing for me.
I was startled when the audience laughed and I lost my place on the page. I
hadn’t expected it. I’ve read it so many times while we were editing that it
had lost its humor for me. It was surprising and really nice.
Tell us about your main character and who inspired him/her.
2 Broads Abroad is
a nonfiction travel memoir, so the main characters are my sister and me. I suppose I can’t really think of us as
characters – just two women, sisters, and friends, who were lonely when their
kids left home, decided to drive wildly down the wrong side of the road in a
strange country, laughing too much, visiting a lot of Irish pubs, and telling
each other stories about raising our kids.
Excerpt from Saven Disclosure:
I pad into the kitchen and hoist myself up onto a stool at the counter. Haydn slides two muffins and a home-made smoothie across to me. “You trying to fatten me up?” I inquire
“You need to eat more when you’re training.”
“I’m sure I read somewhere that you should eat more protein when in training. I doubt you’re supposed to be indulging in calorie-laden treats.”
“Watch your mouth!” Haydn swats me with a dish towel. “Those muffins are made with bran, yoghurt, honey, and fruit. All natural. And totally healthy. Now shut up and eat.”
“Ooh, get you! All right!” I hold my hands up in defeat. “But I doubt I’ll manage two.”
“You can give one to Jarod in work,” he suggests.
I snort. “As if he’d eat anything you prepared! I’d have to lie and tell him I baked it myself.”
Jarod isn’t over his aversion to aliens. And that’s putting it mildly. He absolutely refuses to go anywhere with me outside of work if any of my Saven friends is involved, and he hasn’t ever stepped foot in this apartment. It’s a constant source of tension between us; the cause of more than a few arguments. I understand he’s pissed over the whole memory-erase situation, and the fact that enemy alien ships still hover in our skies doesn’t do much to ease any human’s apprehension, but I’ve tried explaining, time and time again, that we have nothing to fear from Logan and Co., but he won’t hear a word of it.
While I’m grateful that Jarod managed to make it out of Thalassic City safely, and I’m thrilled to be working in the same building as him, sometimes I could happily bash his head against the wall.
