Table Cloth and Clamps

Great table cloth and I love the stainless steel clamps for holding it onto the table. This table cloth is 54 x 72 inches, it is rectangle shaped. It is made of vinyl and has stitching all the way around it. It is easy to clean up just wipe it off or hang it across a clothes line and spray it with a hose. This worked great at family Birthday Party we had over the weekend. The stainless steel clamps just slide over the edge of the table, they are flexible to fit from very skinny tables to thick 2 inch picnic tables. They are reusable and will outlast the table cloth.
This tablecloth is not made or sold as one that will last forever but you should be able to get multiple uses out of it, which beats spending a couple of dollars on one and not making it through 1 meal before it has ripped.

Book Description:

Deirdre watched as Marisa turned and looked at her. She was shocked when she saw the child in her enemy’s arms. The Gothowan woman turned away to shield the child. Deirdre saw the child’s face. The child was looking right at her. Her expression was more curious than frightened. Deirdre knew she could take the fugitive without touching the child. She reoriented her aim, and her finger began to tighten.

It is twenty-five years after the events of Price of Vengeance. Deirdre and her sisters have returned to their home planet of Etrusci after completing their training with the Finnian Shock Forces. Their homecoming plans are disrupted when their mother, High Priestess Celinia, and other leaders of the clergy are taken hostage, and their father, Colonel Liam O’Connor, disappears. In their desperate search for their father, they discover that the Rebellion is secretly building weapons that could end civilization as they know it.

Meanwhile, Liam has been befriended by a Rebel war criminal, a woman Deirdre has sworn to kill. Will Deirdre cast herself into the role of judge, jury, and executioner, or will she discover the promise of mercy?

Book Description:

“Liam! What have you done?” Marcus demanded. “You know our teachings on revenge,”

Suddenly, irrationally angry, Liam straightened. “How can you defend him after what he did? To you, to Mom, to my birth parents, to everyone we cared about?”

With a howl of despair and emotional agony, Liam dashed forward, through the shade of his father, blindly running into the sewers.

What is the Price of Vengeance? One could understand why Liam was angry. He was orphaned at the age of two by a group of giant carnivorous insects called the chitin. Adopted by High Councilor Marcus and his wife, Lidia, Liam was raised with their older son, Randolf in New Olympia, the last remaining city on the planet Etrusci. As an adult, Liam becomes a soldier. After being cut off from the city, Liam finds that there is an alien intelligence behind the chitin. To defeat it, he must discover who he is and how to use his powers. Then, Liam discovers that a traitor, responsible for his birth parents’ deaths, had murdered his beloved foster parents. Will the price he has to pay in his quest for vengeance prove to be an even more unbeatable foe?

Influence of Andre Norton on my Writing
by
Kurt D. Springs
I would like to take the opportunity to thank Teresa of Ts Stuff for having me as a guest blogger. When people ask me which writer influenced my writing the most, without hesitation I answer Andre Norton, the Graddam of science fiction. As a point of fact, I dedicated Promise of Mercy to her memory.
My acquaintance with Andre Norton began in high school, when I noticed her works in the bookstores. I didnt grab a book at once. I hesitated for some reason. Finally I picked up The Lore of Witch World, a collection of short stories set in her famous Witch World universe. I guess the first story didnt make an impression on me, because I put it down and went on to other things. A few years later, still in high school if I recall correctly, I noticed the cover of one of her books called Forerunner. Being a typical teen of the day, I was into Dungeons and Dragons, and one of my favorite creatures was the dark elves. The girl on the cover looked similar to the dark elves. So I decided to give Ms. Norton another shot. I was hooked. I grabbed more of the Forerunner series, then got into Witch World, the Solar Queen, and many more.
Andre Norton was born Alice Mary Norton on February 12, 1912, according to the entry in Wikipedia. She started writing in 1938. Doing the math, she was around 26 years old, and she developed into a prolific writer, writing in multiple genre, including gothic romance, mystery, young adult, and things that defy categorization. However, her most beloved works were science fiction and fantasy.
Her science fiction became somewhat quirky in the 1970s since her space ships followed the older mode of science fiction: pencil shaped and landing fins down. While other science fiction writers moved on to other ways of getting from ship to surface, she stuck with that. A long time favorite of many was the Solar Queen series, which followed the trials and tribulations of free traders who made their living buying and selling merchandise from different planets. In many of her science fiction series her characters used ESP powers. This was especially true of her Forerunner, Moon of Three Rings, and Quest for the Star Stones series.

Andre Norton finally departed from this life on March 17, 2005. Her last novel was Three  Hands of Scorpio, a fantasy novel that revolved around identical triplet girls. If one compares the cover of Promise of Mercy and Three Hands of Scorpio, one can see where the inspiration for my cover came from.

GrowVeg Vegetable Garden Planner

Planning, Planting, growing and harvesting a garden can be a complicated mind blowing thing, but with GrowVeg they make it so much easier. You tell them what you want to plant, they tell you when to plant it, how to grow it, and where to place it in your garden. They even keep track of this years garden, and help you plan next years from this years. You can even print your plans.
Very nice little program, for keeping track of what you have planted, where it is planted, and helps you design your garden. I like that it helps keep track of your planting dates. The program is a bit basic but the wealth of information on their website is amazing. A little and a lot of everything you need to plant and grow a successful garden. The program is online, so nothing to download. You never have to worry about a computer crash taking your garden plans away either.

Paracord Braclet and Paracord Grenade

This is a really cool set, either one alone would be a nice addition to any outdoors kit, but having both together is even better. I have not opened them up mainly because opening them up would mean when we are out camping or fishing, I wouldn't be able to have them with me since once you open them good luck getting them put back together. I did however play with the bracelets fire starter stick and it did work and it worked well. The cord feels very high quality. These would make a great gift for any one on your list who likes being outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, and hiking.

Bru Joy Milk Frother Generation 2 - Renovated!

This is a very nice stainless steel frother. It runs on 2 AA batteries. It is very easy to clean up, just run the blade under warm water, and wipe the base off with a damp cloth. It is not dishwasher safe.
It is not as fast as an electric one, but you will get frothed milk. I used it to froth hot candle wax for a decorated look on a ice cream sundae candle and it worked great.
I received mine during a promotion to try and review.
